It’s International Women’s Day today (not to mention Mardi Gras and Carnival!), and in recognition of this we’ve decided to spotlight our Laurel Burch Spirit of Womankind Collection of writing journals. These brilliantly coloured, vibrant and moving covers come from the fertile imagination of 1960s “flower child” and artist Laurel Burch. They feature imagery that embraces, in Burch’s own words, “the immense heart of womankind.”
“In awe am I of the beauty of Balinese Daughters offering morning prayers at the river’s edge … with happy hearts, sisters in Central America weave ribbons and flowers in their braids … I created this imagery embracing the immense heart of womankind.”
— Laurel Burch
