What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks journal?
You would find my personal and professional goals, ideas for new music projects, songs, lyrics, productions and many inspirational words and quotes that I come across through daily life interactions.
Do you have any personal philosophies you’ve come to develop about writing, art, creation or culture?
My philosophy is pretty simple and is sort of a cliché: I just do what I feel without trying to live up to others expectations. I don’t really care what the trend is for the moment or how my music should sound. The bottom line is that we all want to be successful in what we do. I believe true success is achieved by making something that you can be really proud of, and that is hard if you choose to follow the dreams or guidelines of others.
Do you have any specific themes that you continually refer to in your work?
Except for the quite unusual music project “Skydiving” the rest of my work and songs are based on my experiences. They are sort of like a diary for me.
No matter what type of creative art you make, what or who first inspired you to make it an essential part of your life?
The starting point was back in 96 when I heard one of LL Cool J’s songs called “Loungin”. From that moment on I just had to make my own songs!
How did you find Paperblanks?
My cousin showed me couple of Paperblanks that she had bought. It was love from the very first sight.
What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
The designs are just amazing. It brings an extra layer of uniqueness and personality to my words. It gives my words the first class treatment that they deserve. Plus they look very good on my bookshelf.
Do you have a favorite Paperblanks design?
The new embellished manuscript by Wordsworth has become one of my favorites!
Do you have any advice for other creative people?
Bring out the kid in you. Be spontaneous, imaginative, irrational, and curious. Everything doesn’t have to make sense. And when you do something, whether it is writing or painting etc, live in that present moment and do it like nothing else matters.
