Hi Don,

The Livescribe technology is dependent upon a particular type of paper. Our partnership with Livescribe was a Limited Edition offer, resulting in Old Leather Black Moroccan and Handtooled Mini journals. They are both still available on the Livescribe website but there are no new Paperblanks books in production that can be used with a Livescribe pen.

A seller in a bookshop in Germany told me that at the end of febuary, they send all calendars back to the publishers. So what are you doing with those books and is there a chance for me to get one of them?

To answer your question: Actually no part of the book (or any of the books we sell) are made with leather. The name “Old Leather” is a reference to the designs’ origins and influences. Our Old Leather covers were designed to evoke Renaissance-style covers and manuscripts made of fine Moroccan leather. It was a gift to my partner, and he really likes it. We both have a question for you, however: please define “old leather” for us. Is this repurposed leather from leather items that had an earlier life and other purpose(s)? If so, what goes into the processing of the “old” leather to make it a useful commodity for you to then use?
The purchased item, by the way, is labeled “Handtooled Ultra Wrap” and is a journal with lined pages.
