Revel in the literary world of Gabriel García Márquez with our latest journal design. Gabriel García Márquez (1927–2014), known affectionately as Gabo or Gabito throughout Latin America, was a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter, and journalist.

Considered one of the most significant authors of the 20th century, particularly in the Spanish language, García Márquez was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature. We are delighted to highlight the work of an author who has made such a lasting impact on the artistic community.
Reproduced on this journal cover is a page from his best-known work, One Hundred Years of Solitude. This design captures the magical realism of a beloved tale that reshaped the modern literary canon, layered with rich symbolism and meaning.

Much of García Márquez’s archive, including this manuscript, is held at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas. We are thrilled to welcome him to our Embellished Manuscripts Collection, paying tribute to his seminal work with imagery of the lush green jungles of Macondo alongside the manuscript page. On the back cover is a sketch of the author drawn by a fan from our own in-house team of artists.
We hope this iconic imagery and handwritten manuscript inspire your own creativity!
Garcia Marquez, One Hundred Years of Solitude is available as a hardcover journal and canvas bag.
