Reproducing a lively contemporary work by American creator and illustrator Erica Williams (aka HookieDuke), here a lynx is seen emerging from a haze of orange flowers, introduced as part of our Fall 2025 collection.
Williams’ work is known for blending intricate traditional mark-making, surrealism, lore, and occultism. The Minnesota-based artist’s work explores emotion and spirit, woven through with folklore, sacred symbols, the arcane, and the natural world. Their blend of themes juxtaposed with the softness of nature adds unique layers to their pieces, capturing the imagination and transporting viewers to whole new worlds.
Originally created as a limited edition screen-printed poster for the Americana folk duo Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), this illustration was suggested to us for a cover design by our fans on Twitter! We were drawn to the design for its rich and vibrant details, as well as the duality of the elements – the lynx is fearless and carries the rest of the elements in the design along with it, while the surrounding pink flowers, butterflies, and delicate leaves are sweet and feminine.
