Are you familiar with the Canadian sci-fi author Charles de Lint? He’s very much alive and one of my very favorites. He speaks so much to the Otherworld, both in the Celtic and the Native American traditions. You might find out that the desert island you are stranded on is more populated than you think…and that you aren’t as stranded as you think! 😉
