Sherlock Holmes Museum

Tomorrow is International Museum Day, so what better place to visit on our Literary Landmarks tour than a museum dedicated to one of the most well known literary characters of all time? The Sherlock Holmes Museum, located at the famous address 221B Baker Street in London, England (the fictional home of Sherlock and Dr. Watson), gives visitors a chance to get inside the classic brownstone and see how the detective duo might have lived.

Though the family of Sherlock author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, has been less than enthusiastic about supporting a museum that suggests Sherlock Holmes was a real person, the English government clearly feels differently and has taken on the role of protecting the museum as a place of “special architectural and historical interest.” Open every day except Christmas, the Sherlock Holmes Museum gives group tours and allows photography! So next time you’re in London, why not take a step back in time and into the life of a classic character?

  1. Oh please, when will finally come a Sherlock Holmes version of the paperblanks notebooks? I would love this. It’s elementary! 🙂

    • Thanks for the suggestion and the always appreciated wordplay! We’ll definitely keep the Arthur Conan Doyle suggestion in mind as we source out new Embellished Manuscripts.

  2. I’am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and I really love your Notebooks! An Arthur Conan Doyle- Manuscript would be so awesome :3

    • Hi Kim,

We bet you’re not the only one thinking that way! We’d love to see that, too. Thanks for the idea 🙂
