What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks journal?
I have many different journals. One I use as a travel journal, another as a recipe book, others I use to set down ideas and short stories, sketches and new projects.
Do you have any personal philosophies you’ve developed about writing, art, creation or culture?
Art is not against science and science is not against art.
Do you have any specific themes that you continually refer back to in your work?
Traditional subjects, local customs, fantastic tales, relationships.
No matter what type of creative art you make, what or who first inspired you to make it an essential part of your life?
I grew up surrounded by books, music and paintings. During my childhood, Saturday was “Museum Day” and Sunday the “Cinema or Trip Day.” Night was time for Grimm’s fairy tales and Don Quixote, along with Chopin, Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. After school I spent time painting, doing handcrafts and listening to stories told by my grandmother. All of these provided the first of many inspirations in my life. I feel very lucky to have been exposed to so much.
How did you find Paperblanks?
A good friend gave me a Jane Eyre Embellished Manuscript as a birthday gift. As Brönte’s novel is one of my favourites, receiving this journal was akin to experiencing love at first sight! Immediately, I realized I had found a journal that suited me perfectly.
What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
The range of Dayplanners is something that sets Paperblanks apart. Currently I’m using a
Black Moroccan 18-month Dayplanner.
Do you have a favorite Paperblanks design?
It’s impossible to choose just one. Every design offers something that makes it different and suitable for different people. All are so inspiring!
Do you have any advice for other creative people?
Live. Don’t be afraid to go ahead and pursue your passions.
