The Swiss artist Dieter Roth was a dedicated keeper of journals – both analog and digital. In the spring of 2013, his personal written and video diaries were displayed at the Camden Arts Centre in London, England, as part of a reconfigured Roth exhibition that was originally organised by Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery the year previous.
On display were his vibrantly coloured notebooks as well as his “Solo Scenes” video diaries. Check them out below for a peek into Roth’s highly creative mind.
Missed seeing the exhibition in personal? No problem – they have made this video with his son and collaborator, Björn Roth, giving personal insight into Roth’s journal-keeping and artistry.
