The 1709 Swiss book binding that inspired our Shimmering Delights series was originally crafted from black leather punctuated by metallic studs. This type of decoration, a technique known as pointillé, was created using hammered brass pins.
It just so happens that while we were developing these new Paperblanks® covers we were also munching on some delicious and fresh macarons – and who wouldn’t be inspired by the delicate colours of those tasty treats? We ended up softening the leather look of the original binding by crafting butter yellow and soft pink versions to highlight the shimmering dotted pattern.
And the best part is that these gorgeous journals are arriving in stores just in time for this Friday’s “Macaron Day,” so you too can satisfy your sweet tooth!
