Places: I lived in Kaunas, Lithuania for the first seven years of my life. Then, when I was eight my family moved to the Leytonstone part of London, England. Later we moved to Germany, then back to Lithuania and now we’ve finally settled down and are counting our ninth year back in Germany. My childhood was pretty complicated… I’m quite the globetrotter, you might say. I’ve travelled a lot, aside from moving, like the tour I took through Italy from top to bottom. It was a very inspiring trip; the people and the atmosphere in the streets of even the smallest cities are simply magical. Vendée and Britagne in France are also some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to, and I definitely can’t forget my short visit to Prague back in the spring!

Education: My family moved quite often, so every time we moved I had to change schools. I attended eight different schools and that influenced me a lot. Through this I learned to speak four languages: Lithuanian, German, English and Russian. I am fluent in all of them… but none of them is quite perfect.

Occupation: I’ve just started to go to a Graphic Design school in Lahr, in the Black Forest.

Favourite Quote: “You only see what you want to believe” is a quote from a Sublime song called “Same in the End.” It’s a great song and a quote with a deep meaning to me personally. Sometimes the look of something tricks me, then I try to remember to look at it twice before judging it.

Loves: I love to draw. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil in my hand and I love experimenting with different media. I also love seeing art from other artists. I’m a passionate singer-songwriter and all my songs are immortalised in a Paperblanks journal. Because I live in the blackest of all forests I love being in the amazing nature surrounding me.

What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks Journal?
A lot of freehand sketches, proportion studies, a whole bunch of other drawings, a quote here and there, like a nice phrase for a new song. You would also find my feelings which show in every drawing.

How did you find Paperblanks?
It’s a funny story. I bought my first Paperblanks book at a flea market. I was 13 years old and as I saw it I couldn’t walk past it, so my mother bought it for me. It was a Brocaded Paper Golden Fuchsia and its beautiful cover cast a spell on me. Who would have known that one day I would be featured on your blog?

What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
The design simply gives it a soul of its own. To me, every journal has a different character and a different mood.

Do you have a favourite Paperblanks design?
I own five Paperblanks journals and to pick a favourite isn’t that easy, but I’ll go with the Morris Windrush, Golden Fuchsia and Glowing Rose designs.
