Oscar-Wilde-inside-Voo-Doo-Doughnuts

The latest edition of  Paperblanks Traveller sees our Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest journal take a delicious tour around Portland, Oregon. Of his visit to the American city’s famous Voodoo Doughnut, Mike writes:

Last September I visited the very rainy Portland, Oregon to see Bob & David (from HBO’s Mr. Show). It was my first visit to the city and, aside from the comedy show of course, I was most excited to finally get a chance to visit the legendary Voodoo Doughnut. I’d heard rumours of sweet and savoury luxury, and I was not disappointed. While one of my friends boldly went with the Maple Bacon Bar (exactly what it sounds like), I picked the “ODB” (this is an abbreviation of the title, but Wu-Tang Clan fans will understand it) doughnut.

Of course, I took my latest Paperblanks journal, the Embellished Manuscripts Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest, all over town with me so I could write the strange and wonderful things I encountered. And you can bet that this doughnut, smothered in cookies and peanut butter, garnered a richly detailed entry!
