What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks journal?
Inspiring quotes and words, sketches, tiny thoughts about life and a list of places I want to see. I also paste in pictures from magazines and such that I find inspiring. I also find the exterior of the books so beautiful that I use them as props while photographing.

Do you have any personal philosophies you’ve come to develop about writing, art, creation or culture?
I’ve come to realize that you are really meant to do something when, while you are doing it, you lose track of time and physical needs. You get lost in this bubble and everything else disappears. Once done, you kind of “snap out of it” and suddenly time returns.

Do you have any specific themes you find that you refer back to in your work?
I specialize in portraits, ranging from fashion to wedding and to lifestyle. I’ve recently started to photograph more still lifes and food as well. I really like warm, earthy tones. Composition, light and colors are essential elements in my pictures and are the tools I use to develop my personal style.

No matter what type of creative art you make, what or who first inspired you to make it an essential part of your life?
I’ve always been a creative child, very much into art and languages. In highschool I started to take pictures of everything, and soon got my first professional camera. I do not think any one in particular inspired me, but I got a lot of support from friends and family and that surely kept me going

How did you find Paperblanks?
I headed in to the local bookstore one day and stumbled upon an entire shelf of Paperblanks journals and dayplanners. I’ve always loved books, especially those with personal, beautiful and unique looks, and I fell in love at once.

What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
I like the feel of them, the material and how solid they feel, they are lovely creations of genuine artisanship. One can tell that a lot of work is put into every single design. They feel more personal, and they feel more… me.

Do you have a favorite Paperblanks design?
I really love the look of the Grolier and Morris Honeysuckle, and I have both. I use the Grolier as a journal, and the Honeysuckle was my last year’s dayplanner.

Do you have any advice for other creative people?
Never stop creating and always carry your tools (camera, sketchpad or whatever it may be) with you so that you can create strikes. Read about the craftsmanship you’re interested in, follow blogs with people working with the same creative style as your self, look at what inspires you. Try and not compare yourself to others and wish your work was more like theirs. Your work is personal and unique, and that’s what makes it good!
