Be honest – without having read the title of this article would you have known that the artwork in the images below were made completely out of salt?

Labrynth

“Forest of Beyond”
“Floating Garden”
“After Earthquake”
“After Earthquake”

All of these were created by Motoi Yamamoto, a Japanese artist who specializes in salt-based works of art. According to an NPR article about Yamamoto’s work:

[Yamamoto’s] intricate salt labyrinths can take weeks to create and require a slow, steady hand, not to mention a tremendous amount of salt. The result is a beautifully detailed, if impermanent, exhibition.

We’re definitely impressed! What do you think?
